Lyrics

There's an old-town spot down a two-lane road
Where old friends gather and stories flow
The sign reads 'Blue Zone Tavern' on the door

I'd been driving long so I stopped on in
They greeted me like a long, lost friend
Like I'd been there a hundred times before

I learned they were all up in years, much older than they first appeared
So I asked them what's the secret here to wearing life so well
One gray-haired main, he said to me, "Son, grab a chair and you will see
There's a thing or two we've learned along the way". He said

Move every day while you can and
Be your best as a family man and
For those you've wronged make amends and
Stay connected with good friends and

Know your purpose, know your why
Don't be afraid to laugh and cry
Live a life that's rich not fast
That's how you make the good days last

Before I knew it we'd talked for hours
'Bout slowing down and smelling flowers
No one checked their watch or phone
No one even sat alone
We laughed about the lives they'd led
The roads they'd walked, the daily bread

Move every day while you can and
Be your best as a family man and
For those you've wronged make amends and
Stay connected with good friends and

Know your purpose, know your why
Don't be afraid to laugh and cry
Live a life that's rich not fast
That's how you make the good days last

There's an old-town spot down a two-lane road
Where old friends gather and stories flow
The sign reads 'Blue Zone Tavern' on the door
